What was once the historic Maywood Park Racetrack and its surrounding area along North Avenue in Melrose Park, IL, has been boldly transformed into a thriving, sought-after retail destination. This high-impact redevelopment spanned more than 14 acres—strategically divided into 11 individual parcels—setting the stage for a modern shopping mecca that attracts both premium tenants and steady consumer traffic.With a combined contract value exceeding $15 million, DCS tackled a wide-ranging scope of work across the entire site. The result is a dynamic commercial hub filled with well-aligned, high-end tenants that not only elevate the shopping experience but also drive strong economic activity in the area. Scope included building & site demolition (for all lots), environmental remediation, surface & pond storm water detention (all lots), utilities/paving infrastructure (all lots) and landscaping (all lots).IDOT roadway improvements / intersection improvements were also madealong North Avenue and 1st Avenue.
